It seems like nobody wants to work anymore.

I can’t seem to find good help.

I posted on Indeed, facebook and other professional business sites. I asked around and spread the word that I need budtenders. The problem is that I won’t just hire someone off the street. I need them to undergo cannabis training and take a test to prove they know their stuff. They also need to do team bonding with the other budtenders to ensure they fit in. It is absolutely crucial that they have the right mindset to work in the store. The concern was finding these amazing people. I then realized that there is a cannabis software company that offers all types of services. They actually have dispensary recruiting software. It scans around and offers the job on a variety of platforms. It looks for people in the right age range and educational level that I am searching for. The recruiting software also is a great program when I get a bunch of applicants. I can create filters to cancel out people who have no education, are underage and not a good fit for the store. It has saved me a lot of time finding the right people and not wasting time looking over applications on the wrong people. Dispensary recruiting software wasn’t something I ever thought I would need. Now that I have it, I am so glad that I want this extra mile for my store. All my budtenders are highly capable people.

As a teacher, I am always looking for ways to make extra money. When I was given an opportunity to teach a night time substance use class I was excited. The class is for any student in the district who gets caught using drugs on campus for the first time. Instead of the students being expelled, they have to sit through the course with their parents or guardians.The class that I taught was for students who got caught using recreational marijuana and vape products in school. Some of the students were caught physically in the act of using recreational marijuana and vape products, and some were caught with recreational marijuana and vape products in their possession. As you can imagine, the students were less than thrilled to be in my class. However, the parents and guardians made sure they behaved. This was a better alternative than being expelled. Even though this class was an alternate form of a punishment, I tried to make my lessons engaging for both the students and parents. I created many activities about the side effects of using recreational marijuana as a teenager. One activity that I created was to show the effects of recreational marijuana on the teenage brain. I showed students and parents a slide of about twenty random pictures. I let them write down as many things as they could in a minute. Then I had them hide their list. This next time I played extremely loud and annoying music and stood in front of the list, purposely trying to distract students. This time, they had to write the list of what they remembered in fifteen seconds without looking at their other list. Many students could not remember the pictures when distracted which shows what recreational marijuana can do to short-term memory.

My husband never used medical or recreational marijuana until he went on a business trip to a state that allowed both medical and recreational marijuana. He was never interested in illegally using a drug, so he never had an urge to use marijuana in the state we live in. That’s just the way that things were, but over the years, marijuana has become more and more accessible to everyone. As someone who used medical cannabis a long time ago, I really can’t believe all of the medical cannabis products that are out there on the market today.

Back in the old days, when I first started using medical cannabis, there was hardly anything to choose from at all.

You basically had to smoke it or bake it into brownies and those were your only options. It is really amazing to me to see how far the cannabis industry has come today. I am glad that medical cannabis is so much easier to get these days than it used to be. I am one of those people who really believes that cannabis should be available to everyone at all times.

When recreational cannabis became legal in my state, my friends went crazy.
