From the time we were thirteen, my friends and I were smoking pot.
I knew it was wrong and if my parents found out, they may have wanted to put me away for life.
We were having fun, and almost everyone I knew was smoking pot. I never questioned where it came from, or who paid for it. All we did was sit around and get high. By the time we graduated high school, we were tired of marijuana and had to buy it for ourselves. Jack’s brother was no longer supplying it for us, and we all had to work to pay for the stuff. You see, when Jack went into the military, all of that stopped. My friend Bob, who was Jack’s youngest brother, was taking Jack’s marijuana stash and sharing it with us. When Jack found out, we had to find another way to get it, and that was to get jobs. Later, our state made recreational marijuana legal. I was already tired of smoking and getting high. I had a girlfriend, and we were talking about getting married. I was getting ready to graduate college and working at the local cannabis dispensary. I think it was the smell of the marijuana that had gotten to me. I swore I would use nothing stronger than CBD when my girlfriend said she would marry me. As I got older, even CBD didn’t seem right. I saw my friend Bob, when he invited me to his wedding. He was still getting high, and he offered me a pre-roll marijuana cigarette. I told him my favorite marijuana product is CBD now. He laughed.
