As soon as medical marijuana was legalized in my state, I was in a hurry to get my card.
I searched around for a doctor to give me a recommendation, made the appointment and then handled all the online requirements.
I paid my fees and within a week, I had the card. Visiting the actual dispensary was more intimidating than I anticipated. I had no idea what to expect. I decided to be as prepared as possible. I checked into the nearest dispensary and looked at their website. There were very few pictures of the actual facility, but I was able to familiarize myself with their products. I was shocked by how many options are available. They offer nearly 100 different strains of smokable flower and dozens of varieties of edibles. They sell all types of pre-rolls in singles and packs, both infused and non-infused. The selection of concentrates includes shatter, budder, rosin, live sauce, wax, diamonds and crumble. The selection of vapes is huge and provides both disposable pens and refillable carts in a wide range of flavors and potency. There are also tinctures, extracts and topicals. I had no clue what type of consumption method would be best for me. I had never heard of terpenes and cannabinoids before. I did a lot of reading before I finally stepped inside the dispensary. The atmosphere was extremely comfortable and welcoming. The budtenders were wonderful and immediately set me at ease. I was glad that I’d gained some insight into the categories of cannabis and consumption options so that I could articulate my preferences better.
